About a week ago while browsing the pet store for some treats for Kona a lady walked in with brown/brindle french bulldog. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen. I asked the lady if we could pet it and she agreed, it was so playful and hyper that almost hung itself with it's leash. After talking to this lady about the dog it seemed a little out of the price range that I would spend for a dog ($1500-$2000 pure breed). My wife just loved this little dog and hinted that we should get one, now mind you we currently own a cat, dog, and saltwater fish so we have more than enough pets. As for me I have never owned a dog before I've owned rabbits and that's it, pretty easy pets to tend to. When we got home we googled "French Bulldogs" and the pictures that showed up just pulled on my heartstrings. It was time to get one if we could find one. The wife is currently healing up from surgery on her back so she was able to locate a few for sale. The price range the woman told us at the pet store was true. Although the puppies being sold were from all over Washington we narrowed the search down to the Bellevue area. We contacted to owner and scheduled a meeting time to "JUST LOOK" at the puppy.
So we head overto the owners house and it was a shit hole, an RV sitting in the driveway with people living in it and crap spread out all over the lawn. The inside was worse, I won't go into detail of how piss-infested this place was. But there she was, playing about with her mom. Very agile and physically fit and with a cow pattern that I totally love. After about an hour we took her home with us.
On the drive home, it looked like she was teary eyed for leaving her mother. First we stopped off at PetCo for some puppy necessities. A kennel, puppy food, harness, collar, and pet tag with name "Lani Moo".
Before meeting this dog I was trying to conjure up a name for "Maybe" new pup and cam up with Tonka if its a boy or Lani if it's a girl. The wife liked both name so I was happy, the only thing is she can't pronounce Lani (like Lonnie) but pronounces it like Lanny. But we stuck with the names I chose.
Now if you are from Hawaii you will absolutly know "Lani Moo". She was a famous commercialized dairy cow. You can probably see where this is going. The cow pattern and the girl name I chose before I met her just somehow worked out. So that how this frenchie got her name.
The question is now, "Will Kona accept her?". We'll have to see what happens.
